Encourage kids to explore the world through reading with this bookmark by Gene Luen Yang, 2016-2017 National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. In his second year as Ambassador, Yang continues his “Reading Without Walls” program, challenging young readers to do three things: read a book about a person different from them; read a book about a new topic; and read a book in a format that’s different from what they are used to i.e. a chapter book, a book in verse, audio book, or a graphic novel. In addition to this program, Yang was named a 2016 MacArthur "Genius" and praised for using comics with youth to broaden their understanding of diverse cultures and people.
